Sterling Volunteers is proud to announce our partnership with National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS), whose mission is to educate, equip and empower youth sports leaders, volunteers and parents, so all children can enjoy the lifelong benefits of sports. Together, we are working to change the standard of screening within the youth sports sector which has traditionally been plagued with low-quality background checks. Today, higher quality checks can play a big role in creating safer environments for children on and off the field.

Making the Youth Sports Community Safer

The partnership provides a streamlined integration for youth sports organizations that includes a high-quality screening solution and uses a combination of proprietary technology, and a set of unique criminal record locators. This helps to ensure the safety and compliance of all participants, as well as lowering costs and reducing repetitive screening.

“Sterling Volunteers partnership with NAYS is an important alliance as we share the same vision to provide the proper and essential education for the youth sports sector,” said Kimberly Chochon, Vice President of Partnerships, Sterling Volunteers.“ The end goal is to maintain safe environments for everyone – especially for the kids so they can have a safe and positive experience.”

Empowering Organizations and Coaches

Sterling Volunteers enables volunteers to order and own their own background check online using a secure, self-service screening platform. Coaches can also benefit from our sharing feature which gives coaches the ability to share their background check with multiple organizations.

“Our partnership with Sterling Volunteers is truly a game changer,” added John Engh, Executive Director, National Alliance for Youth Sports. “The integrated background check and coach training system gives NAYS member organizations a much more efficient and organized way to manage their coaches. Also, the fact that any NAYS-affiliated organization qualifies for special rates on a high-quality background check service is something we are proud to offer.”

Together We’ll Make a Greater Impact

NAYS joins Sterling Volunteers roster of important, influential national nonprofit organizations who have joined the Sterling Volunteers mission to help create safer environments to volunteer and work in while mobilizing communities of quality pre-vetted volunteers.

We are honored to be partnered with the National Alliance for Youth Sports and look forward to helping make an even greater impact within the sports communities they serve. If you’d like to learn more about NAYS, visit www.nays.org. The NAYS motto is “better sports for kids, better kids for life.”
