Verified Volunteers Partners with the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee

The Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee is in good company. They recently joined FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), CVNL (Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership), and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Children in partnering with Verified Volunteers to provide their member organizations and volunteers with Verified Volunteer’s highly streamlined and shareable background screening services.
The Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee offers more than 400 nonprofit member organizations, hundreds of non-member nonprofits, and thousands of individuals a large number of tools and benefits.
Benefits for Nonprofit Organizations
The Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee enables nonprofits in the Milwaukee area to grow their organizations and support their communities. Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center, provides services and a website to help nonprofits connect with volunteers, increasing both the number of volunteers and the hours volunteered in the Milwaukee area.
With their new partnership with Verified Volunteers, these organizations can now use the service for their volunteer background screening, ensuring that they are providing a safe environment for their volunteers, their staff, and the communities they serve. The screening service not only offers high quality background screens at a lower cost, but it allows organizations to receive automatic monthly updates on background checks. It’s paper-free and all online, meaning short-staffed organizations have an easier time managing their volunteer programs.
Benefits for Volunteers
The individuals that utilize Volunteer Milwaukee also benefit from the organization’s new partnership with Verified Volunteers. Not only do they enjoy a quick and easy order process, but they become a member of a community of volunteers on the Verified Volunteers platform.
They also have access to the Volunteer Fast-Pass. This background check sharing functionality allows them to volunteer their time with an array of volunteer programs that support the causes they care about. Volunteers own their own background check and can share that check with multiple nonprofits in the Verified Volunteers community. This gives the 50% of volunteers who work with more than one nonprofit the chance to do so without having to fill out repetitive paperwork and waiting for background check reports to be returned. It gives nonprofits the ability to onboard available and experienced volunteers quickly.
“Our community needs the effort of everyone who can lend a hand,” said Bonnie Andrews, Volunteer Milwaukee Manager at the Nonprofit Center, “and Verified Volunteers will give our partner agencies the ability to more effectively screen volunteers so they don’t have to wait to start making an impact.”
We are proud to welcome the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee as a partner, broadening the service offering for their membership and enhancing the already exemplary support provided to the people of the greater Milwaukee area.
