Verified Volunteers is Proud to be Partnering with Hands On Atlanta

If you’ve been following us on Facebook or Twitter, you know that our team at Verified Volunteers attended the 2014 Points of Light Service Unites Conference on Volunteering and Service last week. It was a valuable opportunity to hear from experts in the service sector and connect with amazing organizations around the country.
We had the honor of exhibiting at and sponsoring the conference, which gave us the chance to meet with nonprofit leaders who are working hard to enhance the state of volunteering. Another great aspect of this conference was the fact that it was held in Atlanta, GA — home to our partner Hands On Atlanta.
Hands On Atlanta works with over 400 nonprofit partners in the greater Atlanta area, and that means that these organizations will now have access to a fast, affordable and effective solution for screening their volunteers. For the first time ever, volunteers in the Atlanta area can use our online platform to order a background check and share our Volunteer Fast-Pass with multiple organizations with just a few clicks of the mouse.
Meet Hands On Atlanta…
Hands On Atlanta opened its doors in 1989 and has since engaged volunteers in over 6.2 million service hours in and around the Atlanta metro area. By encouraging service and recruiting committed, passionate volunteers, Hands On Atlanta aims to help strengthen the community and its members.
The HOA team offers several programs to meet these goals — for students, professionals, veterans and many other groups. They provide a variety of opportunities based on how much time volunteers want to commit, and encourage professionals to utilize their skills to make a difference. Through their programs and alliances with local nonprofits, Hands On Atlanta is making strides in creating a significant impact in the Atlanta metro area.

Summer Volunteering: Less Waiting, More Serving
Through our partnership with Hands On Atlanta, local nonprofit organizations can onboard new volunteers quickly and safely, and volunteers can share their background check with multiple organizations using our Fast-Pass feature. Monique Terry, Hands On Atlanta’s Director of Community & Civic Engagement, discussed this with WSB Radio’s Condace Pressley during her program Perspectives. You can listen to the interview here.
Monique was also featured on WSB-TV’s show People 2 People, where she talked about student volunteering during the summer months and how the Verified Volunteers screening platform can help ensure that children are serving in a safe environment. We encourage you to watch Monique’s segment here.
Creating a Lasting Impact Together.
By utilizing our screening platform and the Volunteer Fast-Pass, nonprofit organizations throughout Atlanta can save time, money and resources that can now go toward strengthening and impacting the community. We look forward to helping Hands On Atlanta create a culture of service and making volunteering easier and more accessible.
