Verified Volunteers Announces Partnership with Metro Volunteers in Colorado
Posted Tuesday, February 25th, 2014 by Verified Volunteers Staff
It’s hard to believe how fast we’ve been growing in the past few months – and it’s happening again! We’re happy to announce our new partnership with Metro Volunteers, a source for volunteer engagement and advocacy in Denver and Ft. Collins, Colorado. By working hand-in-hand, we will provide a background screening process that is easier, faster and more affordable for both volunteers and nonprofit agencies.
Meet Metro Volunteers…
Metro Volunteers is Denver’s leading source for volunteer engagement, education, leadership training, and advocacy, building the knowledge and skill set necessary for more effective and impactful volunteering. For 20 years, Metro Volunteers has provided ways to recruit, train, and connect volunteers, nonprofits and corporations in the Denver community.
We’re excited to begin working with Metro Volunteers and enabling them to screen and retain volunteers more easily. Visit the Metro Volunteers website to learn more about their work. You can also connect with them on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Join Us for Volunteer Fest: March 4, 2014
In conjunction with this partnership, we’re sponsoring a very special event in March specifically created to enhance volunteering: Volunteer Fest. This is a free annual event hosted by Metro Volunteers in which volunteers and over sixty nonprofits have the opportunity to connect with each other.
Volunteer Fest will be held on March 4, 2014 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. MT at the McNichols Civic Center Building, 144 W. Colfax Denver, CO 80202. Be sure to stop by our table where we will be demonstrating the Verified Volunteers platform. While there, you can enter to win a 55-inch Samsung Smart TV.
Even if you’re not in the Denver area, you can keep up with the day-of happenings by following along with us using the hashtag, #VolunteerFestCO, on Twitter. We hope to see you there!
Catching the Vision: Local Support of Our Partnership…
We’re not the only ones noticing the vision and impact of Metro Volunteers – the media has caught on, too! A recent article in the Loveland Reporter-Herald describes our partnership and features Metro Volunteers’ Executive Director Kristy Judd explaining how a long and confusing screening process can affect volunteer retention. The article further describes how the agency’s partnership with Verified Volunteers simplifies the background screening process for both volunteers and the agency.
We’re partnering with nonprofit leaders all around the country, and will continue to highlight each here on our blog.
