Meet The People Behind Verified Volunteers

Katie Zwetzig

Executive Director

Katie is excited to be leading the revolutionary change Verified Volunteers is bringing to the nonprofit and volunteer industry. She has been at the forefront of the screening industry for the last 14 years and founded her own background screening company, Tandem Select. Katie holds an MA in Marketing from Colorado State University and a BA in Finance and Marketing from The University of Colorado. Katie feels strongly that nonprofits and volunteerism are at the heart of a strong community. She is a dedicated volunteer, sitting on many boards and committees in Northern Colorado. She is based in Ft. Collins, Colorado where she lives with her husband and 3 daughters.

Christine Sbatella

Vice President, Product Management & Global Operations

Christine leads the product development team and oversees background check fulfillment for Verified Volunteers. Christine has over 18 years of experience in the background screening industry and has a breadth of knowledge in software development and implementation, project management, compliance, risk mitigation and screening fulfillment methodologies. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Kent State. Christine volunteers regularly for the St. Albert the Great church and parish school. She is based in Cleveland, Ohio where she lives with her husband and 2 children.

Christina Brown

Vice President, Client Experience

As head of Verified Volunteers’ Client Experience group, Christina is in charge of Implementation, Account Management and Client Services, essentially ensuring that clients are treated as what they are – our greatest asset! Christina has 12 years of experience in project management and customer service, eight of them in the background screening industry. She has extensive experience managing screening programs for large nonprofit organizations specializing in complex implementation and system integration projects. Christina holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Project Management Certification from Colorado State University and an MBA in Health Care Administration from the University of Colorado Denver. Christina is based in Fort Collins, Colorado where she lives and volunteers actively with her two kids.
