Meet The People Behind Verified Volunteers

Katie Zwetzig

Executive Director

Katie is excited to be leading the revolutionary change Verified Volunteers is bringing to the nonprofit and volunteer industry. She has been at the forefront of the screening industry for the last 14 years and founded her own background screening company, Tandem Select. Katie holds an MA in Marketing from Colorado State University and a BA in Finance and Marketing from The University of Colorado. Katie feels strongly that nonprofits and volunteerism are at the heart of a strong community. She is a dedicated volunteer, sitting on many boards and committees in Northern Colorado. She is based in Ft. Collins, Colorado where she lives with her husband and 3 daughters.

Christina Brown

Vice President, Client Experience

As head of Verified Volunteers’ Client Experience group, Christina is in charge of Implementation, Account Management and Client Services, essentially ensuring that clients are treated as what they are – our greatest asset! Christina has 12 years of experience in project management and customer service, eight of them in the background screening industry. She has extensive experience managing screening programs for large nonprofit organizations specializing in complex implementation and system integration projects. Christina holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Project Management Certification from Colorado State University and an MBA in Health Care Administration from the University of Colorado Denver. Christina is based in Fort Collins, Colorado where she lives and volunteers actively with her two kids.

Beverly McIntosh

Vice President, Strategic Programs

Beverly leads strategic programs for Verified Volunteers. She has over 20 years’ experience in the background screening industry and works closely with technology partners across all sectors. Beverly began her career as a military intelligence analyst and eventually transitioned into the screening industry. Her unique background in security and data has provided Verified Volunteers with a distinct competitive advantage. This has enabled Beverly to strategically collaborate one-on-one with leaders of the nation’s most recognizable organizations to develop model programs that are now utilized across the non-profit industry.

Mark Rosenberg

Vice President, Sales

Mark joined Verified Volunteers in 2015 as Vice President of Sales, charged with driving results for the rapidly growing volunteer screening organization. Over the past 15 years, Mark has succeeded in helping organizations – particularly those in the healthcare and technology fields – transform their businesses by effectively implementing best practice processes. He has maximized efficiencies for numerous Fortune 100 organizations. Prior to coming onboard with Verified Volunteers, Mark was Sales Director at Oticon, Inc., one of the world’s largest hearing aid manufacturers. As a dedicated volunteer, Mark works regularly with ‘Teenz in the City,’ supporting teenagers with special needs. He also emcees the Super Bowl’s Celebrity Flag Football Game, which benefits the Wounded Warrior Project. Because of his passion for helping others, he is excited to help continue to grow Verified Volunteers and make volunteering safer and easier across the country. Mark holds a B.S. in Management from Indiana University and is based in New York City where he lives with his wife and daughter.

Kimberly Chochon

Vice President, Partnerships

Kimberly spearheads strategic business alliances for Verified Volunteers. She thrives on building long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships and has become a trusted advisor to many national nonprofit organizations in screening best practices. She is passionate about educating nonprofits and their affiliates on the important role a quality background screening program plays in helping mitigate risk and creating safer environments. Kimberly holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Washington State University and is based in Seattle, Washington where she enjoys volunteering at local animal shelters.

William Greenblatt

Chairman and CEO

Billy founded Sterling in 1975 and has served as its Chairman since 2014. With more than 40 years of experience, Greenblatt is widely considered to be one of the pioneers of the background screening industry. Under his leadership, the company fundamentally transformed the way companies, both large and small, hire and retain the best talent for their organizations. In 2018 he returned to the role of CEO to lead the company through its next phase of growth.

In June of 2006, Billy was honored by Ernst and Young as the Entrepreneur of the Year. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and a JD from Benjamin Cardozo School of Law.

Lou Paglia

Chief Innovation Officer and President of Sure ID

Lou serves as Executive Vice President, Ventures after joining Sterling Talent Solutions in October, 2015. Lou leads an organization responsible for incubating and driving emerging lines of business for the company such as Verified Volunteers, Bishops and Kennect. He is a product, operations and general management executive with significant experience in web, data and technology. He’s previously held executive roles at Jirafe, Infogroup, Snagajob, Dow Jones Factiva, MTV Networks and Lou has an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a BBA from James Madison University in Computer Information Systems.
